How do I generate my first piece of content?
Getting startedThe fastest path to your first AI output:
- Click Reviews in the left sidebar.
- Paste a real review from Google or Yelp into the "Review text" box (or use one of the demo items already in your queue).
- Click Generate Response. The AI drafts a reply in your brand voice.
- Edit if you want — every edit you make trains the AI to match your style next time.
- Click Approve. The reply lands in your queue.
Nothing posts to Google until you connect your Google Business Profile (see Connecting Google) and click Approve. Until then, drafts stay private to your account.
How do I connect my Google Business Profile?
ConnectionsTwo steps:
- Go to Settings → Google and click Connect with Google. You'll be sent through Google's consent screen — grant access to your business profile.
- After OAuth completes, you'll see a field for Location ID. Find this on your Google Business Profile dashboard (it looks like
locations/12345678901234567890) and paste the number portion in.
Once both are set, the AI starts polling your reviews on the next 5-minute cron tick. Auto-replies require you to approve them manually until the trust ladder is satisfied — see Auto-approve trust ladder.
How do I set up SMS auto-replies (Twilio)?
ConnectionsYou need a Twilio account (free trial available). Once you have one:
- In Twilio, buy a phone number (or use the trial one).
- Find your Account SID and Auth Token on the Twilio dashboard.
- In ManagerAI, go to Settings → SMS and paste all three: SID, Auth Token, and the phone number.
- In Twilio, set the phone number's Webhook for incoming messages to
https://[your-domain]/api/webhooks/twilio.
The first 50 incoming messages will be drafted by AI but stay in your manual queue (the warmup gate) so you verify the AI's tone before it goes autonomous. After 50 verified replies, auto-send activates if you've opted in.
How does auto-approve work?
Content & AIBy default every AI-generated piece of content lands in your approval queue. You review it, edit it if needed, and click Approve to publish.
Once you've approved 10 drafts of the same type (e.g. review responses) without significant rewrites, you can opt that type into auto-approve in Settings → Auto-approve. After that, the AI's drafts of that type will publish without your touch.
High-public-risk types — crisis responses, price announcements, public hiring posts — never auto-approve regardless of opt-in. These stay manual on purpose.
How does the AI learn my brand voice?
Content & AIWhen you edit an AI draft and click Approve, ManagerAI saves a record of the change as a LearnedEdit. Next time the AI generates the same content type, it uses your previous edits as style references — same tone, same length, same vocabulary, same sign-off.
Within about a week of normal use the AI starts sounding like you — not like a chatbot. Visible and editable in Settings → AI Learning. Delete anything you don't want it to imitate; auto-prunes after 90 days.
What are the plan tiers and what do they include?
Billing & plansThree tiers, full breakdown on /pricing:
- Reputation — $89/mo · 1 location · Reviews, complaints, win-back, review requests.
- Growth — $179/mo · 3 locations · Everything in Reputation plus social posts, email campaigns, promotions, holiday + event campaigns, on-demand website copy.
- Full Suite — $349/mo · Unlimited locations · Everything in Growth plus AI receptionist, daily reports, ops checklists, appointment reminders, hiring + HR + onboarding docs, video editor, and more.
Yearly billing saves 2 months. 14-day free trial on every plan, no credit card required.
How does multi-location pricing work?
Billing & plansMost marketing/HR/social features stay flat across your account regardless of how many locations you have — one Instagram, one job board listing, one HR doc set per brand. Only review monitoring and AI receptionist genuinely need more compute per added location (each location has its own Google Business Profile).
So the per-location fee only kicks in beyond what your tier includes:
- Reputation includes 1 location · extra: $19/mo
- Growth includes 3 locations · extra: $19/mo
- Full Suite is unlimited — no extra-location fee
Add a location from Settings → Billing.
How do I cancel?
Billing & plansCancel from /billing. Your account stays active until the end of the current billing period; you're not charged again. No fees, no contracts, no "please call to retain" nonsense.
How do I invite a manager to my account?
Team & locationsFrom Settings → Team, click Invite manager. Enter their email and pick which location they should manage. They'll get a magic-link email; clicking it sets up their account scoped to that location only.
Managers can see and approve content for their assigned location. Owners can see all locations and access billing.
Reviews aren't showing up — what do I check?
TroubleshootingThree things to check, in order:
- OAuth + Location ID: Visit Settings → Connections. Google Business Profile should show "Connected". If it shows "Partial", your Location ID isn't set — see Connecting Google.
- Wait for the cron: The review-fetch cron runs every 5 minutes. After connecting, give it up to 5 minutes for the first batch.
- Check there are actually new reviews: ManagerAI only shows reviews it hasn't already drafted a response for. If you're a Google Business owner with no recent reviews, the queue will be empty (which is correct).
Still empty after 10 minutes? Email avepetersen27@gmail.com with your account email.
AI generation failed — what do I do?
TroubleshootingThe most common cause is a transient API blip. Click Retry in the error banner — it usually works on the second try.
If it fails repeatedly:
- Check Connections — partial / disconnected integrations sometimes block specific generation types.
- Check Billing — if your plan's monthly generation cap is reached, generation pauses until the cap resets.
- Email support with the exact error text from the banner.
